European blackjack is arguably the most widespread variation of the popular game in both land-based and online casinos, with Realtime Gaming’s take on the casino classic very similar to the other games out there. European Blackjack RTG Rules

Unlike the American blackjack, where the dealer is dealt both a face-up card and hole card, the dealer only receives one face-up card at the start of the round here, and will only be dealt other cards when the player makes his decisions. Another important difference is that the dealer is required to stand on soft 17, which is definitely a good thing looking from the player’s perspective.

There have been no changes when it comes to payouts, with Blackjack and Insurance paying 3:2 and 2:1, although we would not recommend taking Insurance at any time. You have a chance to play one or two hands at once, with Double option only active when your hard total is 9, 10 or 11. You can split up to three hands, but only one card is dealt to a split Ace.

User Interface & Limits

The thing we have been impressed the most is lightning-fast action at the tables, with the user interface not exactly top-notch, but definitely good enough not to impair your gaming experience, with a number of useful options included.

You are required to select from five chips and then click on one or both betting circles to make your bets. Click multiple times if you want to stake more than one chip. Deal, Hit, Stand, Double and Split options are in place during gameplay, with Rebet active when the round ends. Players can wager anywhere from $1 to $500 per hand, whereas they can easily check the most important rules by revealing drop-down menu in the top left hand corner.
