Cryptologic Atlantic City blackjack follows the main rules of the game:

• Played with 8 standard decks.
• Surrender option (after the dealer checks for blackjack).
• The dealer must draw to 16 and stand on all 17’s.
• Double down can be performed on any two cards, including after a split.
• Blackjack payouts is 3:2.

Splitting rules are what differs the Cryptologic game from its peers. Cryptologic allow only one split per hand, but does offer the chance to split all ten-value cards, while Microgaming Atlantic City allow splitting to 3 hands, but you can split only similar cards. The bottom line is that the house edge of Cryptologic game is slightly higher, 0.49% vs. 0.36%.

Limits & User Interface

We have been quite impressed by the Cryptologic game interface, which is lightning fast if we disregard the minor delay after placing your wagers, and comes with plenty of built-in features used to help the player customize his gaming experience. This is a multi-hand blackjack title, with five betting positions available.  Bet limits are pretty good, ranging from $2-$50 per hand or up to $250 in total per round, although high stakes casino players might find it a bit restricting.

You will also enjoy comprehensive Auto-Bet and Auto-Strategy features, designed to help the less experienced gamers. One important thing to notice is that the default Auto Strategy is not perfect and needs to be adjusted. For example, it doesn’t take advantage of the Surrender option, which is one of the key features of this game.
