High Hand Blackjack

If the traditional Blackjack does not cut it for you any more and you are looking for the next level of excitement, you may be ready for a hybrid called High Hand Blackjack. While the object of the game in a conventional hand of Blackjack is to beat the dealer, High Hand comes with a twist.

In this variation, the player competes against both the dealer and other players for a community pot, by placing a minimum table wager. With the highest Blackjack hand on the table, the player wins the Blackjack community pot. Simple enough, yet sufficient to add an entirely new dimension to the standard game of blackjack.

At the moment, High Hand is not one of the blackjack games you can play online.

High Hand Rules

The backbone of the game remains the same, with a few minor modifications. After placing a side bet into the progressive jackpot, the goal of each player is to have the highest hand without “busting”. The cards are dealt and compared between the dealer and the players, further increasing the jackpot with every dealer win and player tie. If the player fails to submit the minimum bet, they forfeit the community pot.

  • Each of the players at the table may place a side bet, aiming for the highest hand.
  • Individual player plays against the house, however the jackpot goes to the player with the highest hand.
  • Every “push” hand will require a new round, increasing the jackpot.
  • As usual, any “double down” and splits require a new side bet.
  • The casino’s edge is 3% of each jackpot.

High Hand Blackjack Strategy and Tips

Due to the similarity of the game with the conventional Blackjack, experienced players can use the same strategies as with the regular version, extending the gameplay to other opponents. Since the jackpot is accumulating, the player will focus on prolonging the game and compete mostly against the fellow players rather than the house, in order to increase the potential jackpot.

Because of the game’s different dynamics and with the danger of striking out faster, having both the house and other players as your rivals, you will want to consider some of the strategies that you might normally avoid in the regular version, such as flat betting. On the other hand, the Martingale system, where every lost bet is followed by the stake increase will probably not be a right way to go.

Another good way to maximize your winnings and minimize your loses is a high/low betting system, with a bet increase after a win and a bet decrease after a loss.

Finally, using the progressive system can also be a strong strategy, with a very gradual increase in every next bet– it may take some of the adrenaline edge away, but it keeps you in the game and brings you closer to the finale.
